Our ambassador @thiagomartins will tell you all about it!
With summer approaching, it's very common for people to want to wash their hair more often.
But be careful! As well as being unhealthy, some people's scalps can take up to 48 hours to dry, even if they're blow-dried and their hair is apparently dry, but often their scalps are still damp.
Then you'll tell me: "my hair is greasy and I have to wash it every day"... your hair is only greasy because you cause it yourself.
You stimulate your sebaceous gland to produce more oil than it should! Oily hair tends to attract and accumulate more dust and dirt on the scalp, and dirt also sticks to the hair. Therefore, for those with oily hair, it is essential to wash your hair frequently.
But that'swhere the danger lies: using ordinary, sulphate-containing shampoo and excessive washing can make oiliness worse rather than better. Some research also links excessive washing to hair loss and even female baldness.
My tip is: ✋🏽Pare from washing every day right now! Alternate washing with Low poo products (Co wash and Less poo).
The Low poo technique uses shampoo sparingly and with gentle formulations and maintains the hydration of the hair with conditioner and finisher. This is because followers of the movement believe that this way, when washing the hair, the natural lipid protection of the scalp and hair will not be removed.) I also recommend that you go to a dermatologist specializing in trichology.
Tip from our Technical Coordinator Marisa Russo:
Ideally, wash with lukewarm water, as this temperature helps to open and clean the pores, as well as removing excess oil.
